That"s great! And I was excited to see where it would go next. But well, they ended it. br> Don"t get me wrong tho, I simply adore this movie. It is a fantastic way to finish things off. It"s bold, bloody, surprisingly funny at times. but most important, is emotional and understands our characters. It doesn"t mind killing people, so you truly feel afraid for our characters, you feel like they may die any moment. And that"s great, and probably a freedom only an animated universe can have, but still, is great.
I love that they explore Damian"s and Bruce relationship. Even though I dislike most of the Batman films in the universe, for different reasons, his relationship with the Robins is one of my favorite aspects of DC comics" it"s a side of Batman we rarely see, but when we do, is great. I like the relationship they"ve built between Raven and Damian too. I love Matt Ryan as Constantine. of course, and again, I think the movie is a perfect way to end this universe, as it started 7 years ago.
I was surprise by how bloody it is tbh (I actually didn"t realize it was rated R until I stared lol) it"s in a weird way. refreshing tho, I can"t help but respect the bold move, and the choice they made. It won"t be for most kids to watch and like, but is a different approach one can only analyze the result. And I found the result to be awesome.
I"ve read that they intend to do more standalone movies after that. At the end of the day, if they are good stories, it"s all worth it, but I wouldn"t mind if they didn"t right off the shared universe idea just for now. If we won"t see it on the big screen, we might as well just get a taste of it in video. I hope they change the animation itself tho, 7 years after, and I still can"t like the design they went for in this shared universe, the old ones were definitely better, so. here"s an opportunity to improve.
